Megan Riley
Director of Special Education, Harriet Tubman Charter School
Joined the Team in 2021
Megan was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Xavier University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught 1st grade for 6 years at Lake Forest Charter School. In 2021, she joined Crescent City Schools as a K-1-2 ELA teacher. During this year, she also began working on her Master’s degree to pursue a new career path as a Speech and Language Pathologist. In 2022, she moved on to become the Director of ELA at Montessori where she continued to teach as well as coach ELA teachers. In 2023, she became the Director of Montessori Works at Montessori where she helped organize and implement standards based works across all grades at the school. In August of 2024, Megan graduated from Baylor University with a Masters of Science in Communication Disorders and began her role as a speech therapist at Montessori and Aurora. For the 2026-2027 school year, she is excited to be the Director of Special Education in addition to continuing her role as a speech therapist. Megan brings an enthusiasm and love for learning that she will use to inspire both staff, students, and families. She is dedicated to the mission of Crescent City Schools and is driven by the belief that all students are capable of growth and success.
