Harriet Tubman Charter School is located in the Adolph Meyer Building in Algiers, an elementary school originally constructed in 1917 in the Craftsman style. Designed by the New Orleans Parish School Board’s architect, E. A. Christy, it is one of two remaining Craftsman style school buildings in New Orleans. E. A. Christy designed over 50 school buildings between 1911 and 1940 and was widely recognized for his work in building design.
In 2016, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
