I am Zondra Howard,  the principal of Harriet Tubman Charter School.  This is my 12th year as a member of the Tubman family, and I am honored by the opportunity to lead this awesome school filled with dedicated staff and amazing scholars.

Our mission is to provide students with the academic skills, personal values, and habits of mind to succeed in high school, college, and beyond. To do this, we maintain high expectations of our students and our staff. We are focused on ensuring that every child masters the skills they need, and all of us at Harriet Tubman work hard to ensure every child achieves at the highest levels.

In addition, we have the highest expectations for student behavior so that students and teachers can focus on their most important goal: student achievement.

At Tubman we provide students with great experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. We have a robust enrichment program that includes art, PE, music, strings, STEM clubs, and so much more.  We offer afterschool sports and drumline.

A crucial part of success for students is attendance.  As partners in education it is essential for our families to maintain an attitude that “Every Day Counts” for students to be in school and ready to learn each day.

Our school culture is defined by our core values of Unity, Responsibility, Courage, and Excellence. Developing this set of values will help students do well in any setting.

At Tubman we have created a positive, warm and inspiring school for students while being calm and orderly so learning and teaching can thrive.

I look forward to a great school year!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

I am Raquel Kraushar, principal of Tubman Montessori. This is my 10th year as a staff member at Harriet Tubman and I am truly humbled by the opportunity to lead this dynamic school filled with dedicated staff and amazing scholars.  We have the unique opportunity to provide a purposeful, joyful, and engaging education to our youngest scholars.

Our focus is to bring our students a hybrid Montessori education, where students have ample time to independently work and are challenged by grade level material through direct instruction. We are the beginning of an educational career for our students, and we do not take this privilege lightly.

I believe that education is the ultimate lever to enact social change in our changing world. I am committed to this work and committed to our families. Please contact our front office if you would like any additional information about our school.
