Chiante Vinette

Chiante Vinette is a native of New Orleans, LA where she studied at Southern University of New Orleans and received an undergraduate degree in Child Development and Family Studies and an Alternative Certification in Early Childhood Elementary. She also received a certification in Special Education (Mild and Moderate K-6) at Our Lady of Holy Cross. Chiante has been in education for 17 years and spent five of those years as a Tier IV Special Education teacher. Each year, 80% or more of Chiante’s students have achieved or exceeded standards on the LAA-1 due to the level of rigor and high expectations that she sets in the classroom. In the 2017-2018 school year, Chiante was recognized by New Schools of New Orleans with an Excellence in Teaching Award and was Harriet Tubman’s teacher of the year. She now serves as the Director of Special Education for the Aurora Program.
