Katie O’Hara

Katie O’Hara is the Director of Student Support at Harriet Tubman Charter School. In this role she oversees the RTI/MTSS process and serves as both the School Building Level Committee Coordinator and the 504 Coordinator. Katie manages the Dean of Student Support, the Dean of Mental Health, the Intervention Coordinator, and the English Language Learner Coordinator.

Prior to joining the Tubman Team, Katie has served as an educator and school leader for over 22 years. Katie moved to Philadelphia from Massachusetts to serve as a 2003 Teach for America Corps Member in Philadelphia. There she earned her Masters of Science in Education degree from Saint Joseph’s University. Over the years, Katie taught ELA, Math, US History, Special Education – all subjects, while coaching the Varsity Girls Lacrosse and Basketball teams. Additionally, she was the Assistant Special Education Coordinator and the Director of Student Support at two high performing Massachusetts charter schools. Katie moved to New Orleans in June of 2025 and is so excited to be a member of the Crescent City community – she also thinks the weather here is much better than up North!

Throughout her career as an educator, Katie continues to be committed to ensuring that all students have equitable access to high quality instruction and social emotional support.
