We believe that the development of social and emotional skills is necessary for a student’s academic success. Additionally, it is the belief of Harriet Tubman Charter School that a comprehensive student support program is an equal partner with the instructional program and the family.
The Student Support staff on each campus includes School Counselors, Behavior Specialists, Social Workers, and our School Nurses. The goal of Student Support is to develop, implement, and evaluate services designed to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of every student. This goal is accomplished through the provision of individual/group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, health services, parental involvement activities, and community referrals. We collaborates with teachers, parents, school leaders, and community resource providers to adequately assist students and families.
