Natalie Margot Eldridge is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Mathematics at Harriet Tubman Charter School. Natalie is a native New Orleanian. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Loyola University New Orleans and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She worked with infants in a Montessori setting before moving on to Communities in Schools, an AmeriCorps program that fosters a relationship between public schools and families. Motivated by the post-Katrina educational movement in New Orleans, Natalie joined the Harriet Tubman staff in 2012, helping to pilot the K-1-2 program. In 2016, she moved up to 3rd grade with her students to continue their education in mathematics. That year, her students outperformed the district in Math on the 3rd grade LEAP test. In 2017-2018, while continuing to teach math to 3rd and 4th grade scholars, Natalie took on the role as Red Team Leader. In 2018-2019, she was part of a courageous leadership team that helped to navigate the school through the logistics of an expansion initiative, while simultaneously relocating to a newly renovated building. This difficult work led to a strong 2019-2020 school year for Natalie and her team, which allowed them to continue to stay connected, motivate one another, and consistently brainstorm new ways to educate and bring joy to students during virtual distance learning.
