A New Orleans transplant, Moneisha was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and received a B.A. in Chemistry. A summer before graduating, she was a member of the 2016 Relay Summer Experience program. In the program, Moneisha taught 4th grade Math and led fitness instruction to rising-fourth graders in New Orleans. After the experience, she decided to apply for acceptance into Relay’s Graduate School of Education, where she received a Masters of Arts in Teaching in August of 2018. She joined the Tubman family in the Fall of 2016, originally teaching 5th and 6th grade Social Studies. She moved to 5th and 6th grade Science the following year. From 2018-2020, Moneisha served as the Blue Team Leader and 7th Grade Science teacher. This year, she will take on the role of Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Science at Harriet Tubman Charter School for grades 3-8.
